Ahoy! It's a Boy!

I cut out 40 boat cards to use as a baby shower invitation for my coworker.  Let me rephrase that, it's for a shower that my coworker is hosting.  This coworker shares my love of crafting and is such a sweetie.  She's going with a nautical theme - hence the title.

Here's a shot of two of the invites:

I used the Life's a Beach cricut cartridge and cut these sailboat cards using the "card" button.  I went through my stash and pulled as much light blue patterned paper as I could find.  Those I cut to fit inside the cards.  That was going to be it until I saw a random punched heart sitting on my craft table and thought, hey that would be cute on one of the sails.  So, I punched a bunch of little hearts using the red cardstock scraps.  As I'm punching the hearts, I realized that we would not be able to use a red heart on a red sail, so out came my little star punch.  I punched some stars using the blue scraps.

To make sure everyone knew this is a baby shower invitation, I pulled my "baby" stamp and decorated the other sail.  The invites are 5 1/4" square.

Next I'll work on the nautical pieces to adorn the favors and decorations.

I never used that "card" button on this cartridge.  But I love how easy it was to cut and decorate.  I'm going to have to look more closely at all those extra features on my cartridges.

Cardstock:  Ballet Blue and Real Red from Stampin' Up!
Patterned Paper:  Assortment from my stash
Heart Punch:  Stampin' Up!
Star Punch:  EK Success (gifted from Karen)
Stamp:  "baby" from SU!

Friday Night Pizza Night

Our family has been having pizza every Friday night since I don't know when.  It's a tradition that brings our family together every week.  In fact, the only time we don't do Friday Night Pizza is on Fiesta weekend.  Of course there have been times when we weren't home or we had other plans, but they are few and far between...

I created this layout using the sketch challenge on Stuck On You Sketches.  The designers on this site are amazing and inspire me to reach out and do more.

Here's my layout featuring Little Miss Carly:
Although this is a family affair, the boys never let me take a photo.

The base paper and stripes are from a page kit i had from forever ago.  Stamps, font, are from Stampin' Up and the pizza stickers and pepperoni stickers were also from my stash.

Another First Place Ribbon

I got another ribbon!  First Place in the "other" division.  They have different divisions for the different age groups - drawing, painting, and other

So now I'm 2 for 2.  I realized there's a "Best of Show" ribbon...challenge accepted!  I've got to figure out what to do for next year...

Not the best photo, but the ribbon is pretty though :).

Supplies used:
A whole lot of whatever I could find in the Command Center.

Graduation Banner

Here's a photo of the graduation banner I made by request from my Facebook page.

It was so simple to do and I love the way it turned out.  The red and white squares were attached to a gray base.  Those are our local high school's colors.

I used the Art Philosophy cricut cartridge for the squares and the letters were cut using the Plantin Schoolbook cartridge.  The graduation "hats" were cut from the Paperdolls cartridge.

Popping Up Everywhere!

I've been in and out of the Command Center because my A/C hasn't been working and we have been having triple digit and high 90's weather.  Even with a fan, it's too hot hanging out upstairs.  Carly and I have another boutique this weekend so I needed to be in there creating...After doing a quick inventory of what we already have, we realized we should be fine for this four hour evening event.

However, I've been looking through Pinterest and saw these CUTE pop up box cards.  They fit in a regular envelope when flatten.  Here are some photos of what I've done.  I am working on two more girl birthdays and am thinking of doing a video tutorial.  We'll see how that works LOL

so fun right?!
